MergeCiv

An idle civilization you build by merging

MergeCiv is a free strategy idle game that starts with a handful of farm tiles and ends with an empire. Drag two matching tiles together and they become one tile a tier higher that produces more Food, Wood, Ore or Gold every second. Spend what you harvest on Villagers, research and a bigger board, and the loop keeps opening new systems for months of play. There are no energy timers limiting how long you can play, and your settlement keeps producing while you are away.

How a run unfolds

  1. Merge and harvest. Higher-tier tiles produce more every second, so the opening is about building merge chains without filling the board.
  2. Grow your people. Villagers, Houses and Villages raise your population, which drives production and, later, how much Culture a reset is worth.
  3. Resettle for Culture. When growth slows, Resettlement trades the current run for Culture Points that buy permanent Legacy upgrades, so every run starts faster than the last.
  4. Go deeper. Later layers add Ascension, Mana and rituals, artifacts, the Underground and the Citadel, a Conquest campaign fought with the army you merge, and the Astral Tree.
