Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using MergeCiv (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

MergeCiv is a free-to-play resource management and civilization building game available on web and mobile platforms. The App may include optional in-app purchases and rewarded advertisements.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are under the age of 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the App and agree to these Terms. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. User Accounts & Cloud Saves

The App offers optional account linking (via Apple or Google) for cloud save functionality. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Cloud saves are provided on a best-effort basis. While we strive to keep your data safe, we cannot guarantee that save data will never be lost.
• You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. In-App Purchases

• All in-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies.
• In-app purchases grant virtual items or benefits within the App only and have no real-world monetary value.
• We reserve the right to modify, manage, regulate, control, or eliminate virtual items or currencies at any time, with or without notice.
• Except where required by applicable law, all purchases are final and non-refundable.

6. Rewarded Advertisements

The App may offer optional rewarded advertisements powered by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob on mobile and Google AdSense on the web). Watching rewarded ads is entirely voluntary and grants in-game benefits. Ad availability is subject to third-party service availability and is not guaranteed.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use cheats, exploits, automation software, bots, hacks, or unauthorized third-party software to modify or interfere with the App.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App.
• Exploit bugs or glitches to gain an unfair advantage. If you discover a bug, we ask that you report it to us.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.

8. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including but not limited to artwork, graphics, text, game mechanics, audio, and code — is owned by MergeCiv or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App.

9. User-Generated Content

If you share content created through the App (such as screenshots or share cards), you retain ownership of your content but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content for the purposes of promoting and improving the App.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.

11. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
• Any warranty that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• Any warranty regarding the security, accuracy, or reliability of the App or its content.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MERGECIV, ITS DEVELOPERS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GAME PROGRESS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MergeCiv and its developers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted within the App with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
